Deepening Love Through Wisdom and Discernment for a Life of Integrity

โ€œAnd this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;โ€ โ€” Philippians 1:9-10

Inspiration
As love expands in knowledge and sound judgment, it evolves beyond mere emotion into a guiding light for our spiritual journey. This divine growth empowers us to discern and embrace what is truly excellent, cultivating a heart of sincerity and purity that withstands life's trials until Christ's return. Such intentional love fosters a profound transformation, anchoring us in God's truth and enabling us to live with purpose and grace, free from stumbling, as we await eternity.

Prayer
Gracious Lord, I humbly ask You to abundantly increase my love, enriching it with wisdom and deep understanding. Grant me the discernment to recognize and pursue what is excellent, and sustain me in a life of genuine sincerity, free from offense, as I journey faithfully toward the glorious day of Christ's coming.

God be with you !

Authentic Service Rooted in Reverence

โ€œServants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;โ€ โ€” Colossians 3:22

Inspiration
True obedience flows not from external pressures or the desire for approval, but from a sincere heart that honors God. In our daily work and relationships, this transforms service into a sacred act, where every action becomes an offering of devotion. By focusing on inner integrity rather than outward appearances, we cultivate a deeper connection with the divine, finding purpose and peace in humble faithfulness.

Prayer
Gracious God, instill in me a heart of genuine service, free from pretense. Help me to act out of reverence for You alone, not for human validation. May my life reflect Your love in all I do, strengthening my spirit for authentic devotion. Amen.

God be with you !

God's Unfailing Love in the Morning Light

โ€œYet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.โ€ โ€” Psalms 42:8

The Heart of True Surrender to God

โ€œIf any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.โ€ โ€” Luke 14:26

Inspiration
Discipleship calls for absolute devotion, where our love for God must eclipse all earthly attachmentsโ€”family, self, or comforts. This is not about hatred but a radical reordering of priorities, ensuring God reigns supreme in our hearts. In the stillness of night, reflect on what holds us back; surrendering these allows us to embrace divine freedom and deepen our spiritual journey, finding true peace in His unwavering presence.

Prayer
Dear Lord, help me love You above all else, granting courage to release any bond that rivals my devotion. Strengthen my heart to walk as Your faithful disciple, that my life may radiate Your grace. Guide me in this quiet hour to seek Your will alone. Amen.

God be with you !

Morning Call to Worship and Listen to Our Shepherd

โ€œO come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,โ€ โ€” Psalms 95:6-7

Inspiration
As dawn awakens, we are summoned to humble worship before our Creator, recognizing Him as our loving Shepherd. We are His cherished flock, entrusted to His care, and this new day invites us to attune our hearts to His gentle voice. In submission, let us kneel in gratitude, embracing His guidance as we navigate life's pastures. This sacred moment renews our trust, reminding us that true peace flows from surrendering to His divine will and walking faithfully in His light.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, as this day begins, we bow in worship before You, our Maker and Shepherd. Open our ears to hear Your voice clearly and grant us the courage to obey Your leading. Guide us as Your sheep through every challenge, filling our hearts with unwavering trust and gratitude. May our steps align with Your purpose, reflecting Your love in all we do. Amen.

Counting the Cost of True Commitment

โ€œFor which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?โ€ โ€” Luke 14:28

Inspiration
In our spiritual journey, building a life of faith demands careful planning and honest assessment, much like constructing a tower. We must pause to evaluate the sacrifices requiredโ€”our time, priorities, and willingness to endure hardships. This reflection ensures we don't start impulsively only to falter halfway. True discipleship calls for unwavering resolve, rooted in God's sustaining grace, to persevere through trials and complete the work He has entrusted to us.

Prayer
Dear Lord, grant me the wisdom to honestly count the cost of following You. Help me assess my heart's readiness for sacrifice and perseverance. Fill me with Your strength to build my life on a firm foundation, trusting in Your provision to carry me through every challenge until the work is finished.

God be with you !

Embrace God's Unchanging Faithfulness Through Life's Seasons

โ€œAnd even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.โ€ โ€” Isaiah 46:4

Inspiration
Morning calls us to reflect on God's enduring promise to carry us from youth to old age. In times of vulnerability, He remains our steadfast strength and shield, never abandoning us. His faithfulness transcends time, offering unwavering support and deliverance in every challenge. Trust in His constant presence, for He sustains us through all seasons, reminding us that we are held and loved eternally.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for your unchanging presence in every stage of my life. Today, I ask for your carrying strength as I face the journey ahead. Grant me faith to lean on you, protect me from fear, and guide my steps in your truth. Help me rest in your promise of deliverance and never doubt your unfailing care. In Jesus' name, Amen.

The Call to Thoughtful Spiritual Commitment

โ€œOr what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?โ€ โ€” Luke 14:31

Inspiration
In our journey of faith, we are reminded to carefully assess our readiness before embracing God's call. Just as a wise leader evaluates resources before conflict, we must honestly consider our willingness to surrender comforts and endure trials. This deliberate reflection prevents impulsive decisions that lead to spiritual burnout, instead cultivating a resilient and authentic devotion. By seeking divine wisdom, we build a foundation of enduring faith, honoring the profound commitment required to walk in Christ's footsteps with courage and humility.

Prayer
Gracious God, grant us discernment to weigh the cost of discipleship with honesty and trust. Strengthen our hearts to face challenges without wavering, and fill us with Your wisdom to make choices that deepen our surrender. May our commitment reflect Your love, guiding us to persevere in faith and grow in unwavering devotion. Amen.

Rejoice in God's Faithful Provision Each Morning

โ€œBe glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.โ€ โ€” Joel 2:23

Inspiration
As dawn breaks, let joy arise in your heart, knowing that God faithfully provides for your needs, just as He sends timely rain to nourish the earth. His blessings are perfectly measured for growth and renewal, reminding us of His unwavering care. Embrace this day with gratitude, trusting that His presence sustains you through all seasons, and let this assurance inspire a life of hope and purpose.

Prayer

The Cost of True Discipleship

โ€œSo likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.โ€ โ€” Luke 14:33

Inspiration
To follow Christ requires a radical surrender of our entire being, releasing every attachment that binds us to worldly pursuits. This complete abandonment is not mere loss but a profound liberation, where we gain spiritual freedom and intimate union with God. It demands humility and courage, as we prioritize divine purpose over personal comfort, discovering true peace in yielding our lives to His will.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, grant me the strength to forsake all that distracts me from Your path. Help me surrender my ambitions, possessions, and fears, embracing Your call with unwavering faith. May my heart be purified in devotion, that I may live as Your true disciple, reflecting Your love and grace in all I do. Amen.

Buying the part yourself? Read the Parts Shelf first โ€” how Tori prices factory vs. aftermarket before spending a dollar. โ†“

The Parts Shelf โ€” how Tori buys parts

One rule runs this whole page: price BOTH โ€” factory (OEM) and aftermarket โ€” then pick with your eyes open. Sometimes factory is worth it. Sometimes it's the same part in a dearer box. Here's how Tori tells the difference.

The proof โ€” Tori's own car, October 2026

The $530 headlight he didn't buy

After a crash, Tori's 2015 Chrysler 200 needed the passenger-side headlight โ€” and his car takes the Xenon/HID version, not the cheaper halogen one most listings show first. A parts yard quoted him $530 for a used, hazy HID unit. He said no โ€” and priced it properly instead:

โœ… Used HID, correct part: $153 total  โ€ข  โœ… New aftermarket HID housing: $139.99 shipped (bulb & ballast usually not included โ€” know before you order)  โ€ข  โœ… Used factory OEM: $242โ€“$275

Three lessons in one hunt: know your exact part (HID โ‰  halogen โ€” the $114 lamp he was first offered was the wrong system entirely), never take the first quote, and price both roads before you pick one. Prices checked October 2026; part prices move, so every hunt gets checked fresh.

Factory โ€” OEM

The maker's own part

Made by (or for) the company that built your car, in the maker's box. Best fit and finish, usually the highest price. Worth it for sensors, electronics, and fit-critical pieces.

Quality aftermarket

The smart middle

Known brands that often supply the makers themselves. For brakes, filters, suspension, and most wear parts, this is where Tori's money usually goes โ€” same job, saner price.

Budget aftermarket

Cheap โ€” with rules

Fine for trim, housings, and things that can't strand you or hurt you. Never for brake hydraulics, steering, or anything your safety rides on. Cheap is only cheap if it works.

The shelf, category by category

How Tori buys each kind of part โ€” the pick, and the budget pick that's still good.

Tori's pick logic

Brakes โ€” pads & rotors

Pick: known mid-grade brands stop a daily driver as well as factory parts. Budget pick: the store brand's premium line โ€” not the cheapest white box on the shelf.

Tori's pick logic

Oil & filters

Pick: name-brand oil that meets your car's spec, with a real filter brand. On-time changes beat fancy oil changed late. Budget pick: store-brand full synthetic that meets the same spec.

Tori's pick logic

Batteries

Pick: buy the warranty years and a fresh date code, not the label on the case โ€” a handful of factories make nearly all of them. Budget pick: mid-tier with a 3-year warranty. Always check the date sticker.

Tori's pick logic

Hubs & bearings

Pick: real bearing names (the Timken / SKF / Moog class). Tori has changed enough hubs to know: the bargain hub comes back howling in a year. Budget pick: mid-grade with a warranty โ€” this shelf is not the place to bottom-dollar.

Tori's pick logic

Sensors & electronics

Pick: factory OEM, or the brand that supplies the factory. Cheap sensors throw ghost codes and eat weekends. Budget pick: honestly โ€” this is the buy-it-once shelf. Save somewhere else.

Tori's pick logic

Headlights & lighting

Pick: match the exact system and trim first โ€” HID vs. halogen is the trap that caught a $530 quote. A clean used factory unit often beats a new cheap copy. Budget pick: quality used OEM with a clear lens.

Tori's pick logic

Deer alert whistles

Pick: the Custom Accessories Deer Alerts 2-pack โ€” chrome bumper whistles, about $8โ€“$13 at the parts stores, Walmart, and Amazon. Straight talk: independent studies have never proven these stop a deer โ€” even the package hedges with an asterisk. Plenty of Michigan drivers run them anyway because they're cheap. Run one if you like, but your eyes are the real protection: slow down and scan the ditches at dawn and dusk, especially October through December, when deer are moving most.

Tori's pick logic

Auto stop-start delete

Pick: the Autostop Eliminator โ€” about $100โ€“$110, built for your exact year, make, and model. It plugs in and remembers your OFF choice, so the engine quits cutting off at every light and you quit stabbing the button every start. No wiring or programming changes, and unplugging puts it back to stock. Watch-out: it is vehicle-specific โ€” order by your exact car or truck, and skip the bargain diagnostic-port plugs; those are the ones with the check-engine-light horror stories.

Watch-outs โ€” read before you buy

๐Ÿšฉ The wrong-trim trap: same car, same year, different part. Trim, engine, and options change the part number โ€” check yours before ordering, not after the box arrives.
๐Ÿšฉ Counterfeits are real: fake spark plugs, sensors, and filters flood online marketplaces. Buy from known stores and sellers, not the cheapest listing on Earth.
๐Ÿšฉ Core charges: alternators, starters, and calipers often carry a core fee you get back when you return the old part. Budget for it so it doesn't surprise you.
๐Ÿšฉ โ€œLifetime warrantyโ€ usually means lifetime replacements, not refunds โ€” and only with your receipt. Keep every receipt.
๐Ÿšฉ Never take the first quote โ€” not the dealer's, not the yard's. Price both roads. That's the whole game.

Where it sells: Advance Auto Parts โ€ข AutoZone โ€ข O'Reilly Auto Parts โ€ข CarParts.com โ€” store buttons switch on at launch, once Tori's signups are done. And the yardstick Tori checks first on any part: RockAuto โ€” often the price to beat (they run no link program; we list them because honest is honest).

Rather have Tori hunt it for you? That's Find It โ€” tell him the car and the part, and he'll price both roads near you. Got a repair question instead? Use the Fix It form above. Mower down instead of the car? The Mower & Small Engine Shelf is right below. โ†“

The Mower & Small Engine Shelf

This shelf is firsthand: Tori used to run C5 Lawn Care and kept his own machines alive โ€” including rebuilding his own mower carburetors when most people would have bought a new mower. His first rule here: most โ€œdeadโ€ mowers aren't dead. They're gummed up, starved, or one $8 part away from running.

Start here โ€” the 30 seconds that saves you $50

Find your model numbers first

Small engines live and die by their numbers. Before you order anything: the engine model is stamped on the engine (often on the valve cover or blower housing), and a rider's deck/machine model tag hides under the seat or on the deck. Every real parts site โ€” Jack's, PartsTree, eReplacementParts โ€” starts with those numbers and shows you the exploded diagram for your exact machine. Guess by looks alone and you'll own a very nice wrong part.

And the #1 killer Tori saw at C5: stale fuel. Gas goes bad in a month or two, and ethanol blends gum up small carburetors and eat old fuel lines. Fresh fuel, stabilizer for storage, and ethanol-free gas for equipment that sits โ€” that one habit prevents half the no-starts in America.

The shelf, part by part

The pick, and the budget pick that's still good โ€” same as the car shelf.

Tori's pick logic

Carburetors & rebuild kits

Pick: rebuild the carb you have โ€” a kit is a few dollars in gaskets, needle, and seat, and it's the job Tori did on his own fleet. Budget pick: a complete aftermarket carb when the body itself is worn or corroded โ€” often cheaper than one hour of shop labor. Photograph every linkage before teardown.

Tori's pick logic

Blades

Pick: the OEM-spec blade for your deck โ€” mulching blade if you mulch, high-lift if you bag. Budget pick: quality aftermarket in the exact length. The classic wrong part: right length, wrong center hole. And a sharp, balanced old blade beats a new one installed bent.

Tori's pick logic

Belts

Pick: the exact OEM size โ€” mower belts are sized in half-inch steps and the good ones are Kevlar-wrapped for a reason. Budget pick: aftermarket Kevlar belt in the exact size. โ€œClose enoughโ€ belts slip, glaze, and shred โ€” usually mid-yard.

Tori's pick logic

The tune-up trio

Pick: air filter, spark plug, fuel filter โ€” every season, no debate. A name-brand plug, gapped right. Budget pick: the tune-up kit sold by your model number. This is the cheapest horsepower you'll ever buy back.

Tori's pick logic

Fuel line, primer bulbs & shutoffs

Pick: replace the rubber before it fails โ€” ethanol turns old lines brittle and primer bulbs crack right on schedule. Pennies a foot. Budget pick: a small-engine fuel-line kit with clamps and an inline shutoff. Keep spares in the toolbox; they always quit on a Saturday.

Tori's pick logic

Starters, solenoids & batteries

Pick: test before you buy โ€” most โ€œbad startersโ€ are a dead solenoid, a corroded connection, or a tired battery wearing the disguise. Budget pick: the solenoid (cheap) before the starter (not cheap). Check the battery's date code like the car shelf says.

Watch-outs โ€” small engine edition

๐Ÿšฉ Safety before everything: pull the spark plug wire before your hands go anywhere near the blade. Every time. No exceptions.
๐Ÿšฉ Stale fuel lies to you: a mower that โ€œran fine last fallโ€ and won't start in spring is telling you about its gas, not its engine. Drain, refill fresh, then diagnose.
๐Ÿšฉ A dull, unbalanced blade vibrates the deck and eats spindle bearings โ€” sharpen and balance, or replace.
๐Ÿšฉ Springs bite: self-propel drives and belt tensioners hold springs under load. Note where they hook before you unhook them โ€” photos again.
๐Ÿšฉ Don't feed it car parts-store guesses: if a listing doesn't ask your model number, it's not a small-engine part โ€” it's a gamble.

Where it sells: eReplacementParts โ€ข Jack's Small Engines (now part of the Northern Tool family) โ€ข PartsTree โ€ข tune-up kits also ride Amazon.

Mower acting up and you're not sure why? Ask in the Fix It form โ€” pick โ€œMower / lawn equipmentโ€ and tell Tori the model number and what it's doing. Rather have him hunt the part? That's Find It.

How it stays honest: You buy directly from the seller. Tori never holds your purchase money. Prices and availability can change, so the promise is the best price we can find โ€” not a guarantee nobody anywhere has it cheaper.

The full Find It service โ€” prices, proof, and the rules โ€” is right below โ†“

Find It โ€” the service, plain and simple

You tell us what you're hunting and your ZIP. We do the searching, the price-checking, and the trap-flagging. You only pay when you want the location and the link โ€” and you buy direct from the seller. We never hold your purchase money.

How it works

Step 1

Ask for free

Tell us what you're hunting and your ZIP โ€” use the Find It form above. The search costs nothing.

Step 2

We search and check

We search stores and private sellers near you, check the price and stock, and flag the traps โ€” wrong fit, too-good prices, title games.

Step 3

You see what we found

The item, the price, how many are in stock (as listed when we checked), how far away it is, and Tori's verdict โ€” but not where it is. That part stays locked until you unlock it.

Step 4

Unlock it, then buy direct

Pay the unlock fee, get the location and the link, and buy direct from the seller. No middleman holding your money โ€” and during the grand opening trial (through Sunday, November 8) that step is free.

The price board โ€” no fine print hiding

The search is FREE. You only pay to unlock.

๐ŸŽ‰ Grand opening trial โ€” through Sunday, November 8, every unlock is $0. The prices below are the regular prices. During the trial you pay none of them.

Finds under $50: $5 flat.
Finder's Pack: $20 for 5 finds โ€” buy 4, get 1 free. Pack finds never expire, and one pack covers the whole household.
A pack find is worth $5 on ANY find: it covers a small find whole, or knocks $5 off a bigger find's unlock fee. Example: a $120 find has a $12 fee โ€” with a pack credit, you pay $7.
$50โ€“$4,999: 10% of the price. A $4,000 car find is a $400 unlock fee.
$5,000โ€“$9,999: 5%.
$10,000 and up: 3%. A $10,000 tractor find is a $300 unlock fee.
Plus a 3% card fee, paid by the customer and printed up front โ€” Tori's rule: let it be known, and they pay it. Example: a $10 fee means you pay $10.30; a $400 fee means you pay $412.

Stock counts are as listed when we checked โ€” stores change stock, and a private seller usually has just the one item. Prices are the listed price when we checked, not a promise the listing can't move.

Trust rules โ€” the deal only counts if it's real

โœ… Nothing found = no fee. If we can't find it, you owe nothing.
โœ… Item gone when you get there, or we got it wrong = fee back. Simple as that.

Reply promise: โ€œWe aim to get back to you the same day.โ€

Where we look

๐Ÿ›’ New: store shelves and store sites โ€” Amazon, Walmart, Bass Pro, and the parts stores.
๐Ÿ” Used: Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Craigslist, and Mercari.
๐Ÿš— Cars: CarGurus dealer listings near your ZIP โ€” their deal rating is a second set of eyes on the price.
๐Ÿ๏ธ Motorcycles, ATVs, and side-by-sides: Cycle Trader listings near you.
๐Ÿšš Trucks & moving: U-Haul locations near your ZIP โ€” truck and trailer rentals and storage, for when you need a way to haul it home.
๐Ÿพ Pets: Petco near your ZIP โ€” food, supplies, and gear for your animals.

What we hunt

Whatever you're hunting โ€” cars, parts, appliances, shoes, fishing gear, all the way up to tractors and front-end loader parts. If we can't hunt it honestly, we'll say so.

Proof โ€” Tori's own car, October 2026

The $530 headlight he didn't buy

A parts yard quoted $530 for a used, hazy passenger-side Xenon/HID headlight for his 2015 Chrysler 200. Tori said no and priced it right: the correct part was found at $153 used. Knowing the exact system โ€” Xenon/HID, not the cheaper halogen โ€” is what saved the money.

Proof โ€” a real hunt, October 2026

The $99 fly rod combo that beat the $119.99 used rod

For a beginner fly setup, the hunt found a brand-new combo for $99 โ€” rod, reel, and line โ€” beating a used rod alone at $119.99. Cheapest isn't always best, and used isn't always cheaper. The hunt says so plainly instead of just handing over links โ€” and it flagged the $47.99 bargain combo as a skip, because buyers report it locks up.

Ready to ask?

Use the Find It form above โ€” what you're hunting, your budget, your ZIP, and how far it can be. Send it in and we get hunting โ€” the search itself is free, and we aim to get back to you the same day.

Tackle & Tide โ€” fishing & hunting

Twelve real lures โ€” real photos of baits you can buy today at Bass Pro, Cabela's, Walmart, Dick's, and tackle shops. Prices are typical shelf prices and vary by store and color. Search by fish, color, or lure โ€” then open one for depth, weight, and how to fish it. The hunting shelf is below.

๐ŸฆŒ Hunting โ€” picks from Tori's own seasons

Straight with you, like everything here: Tori hunted his seasons in Shelby Forest, out with his older cousin โ€” work keeps him out of the woods right now, so these picks come from that real time out there, not from this year's catalog. What kept him warm, hidden, and ready is what he'd hand a new hunter today.

Tori's pick logic

๐Ÿงฅ Clothing & boots

Pick: layers rated for sitting still โ€” stand hunting is colder than walking. Boots waterproof, insulated, and broken in before opening morning. Cold feet end more hunts than anything else out there. Budget pick: last year's camo pattern on clearance. Deer don't read catalogs.

Tori's pick logic

๐ŸŒฒ Stands & blinds

Pick: a stand with a real seat โ€” comfort is patience, and patience is what fills tags. And a safety harness, every climb, no exceptions: falls are how hunters get hurt, and a harness costs less than the ambulance. Budget pick: a ground blind โ€” cheaper, warmer, and the best seat in the woods for a kid's first season.

Tori's pick logic

๐Ÿ”ญ Optics

Pick: binoculars first โ€” the 8x42 class is the woods standard โ€” and a scope matched to the woods: most shots under the trees are close, so low-power variable glass beats a telescope. Budget pick: honest mid-range glass from a maker you've heard of, over no-name โ€œmilitary gradeโ€ marketing every time.

๐Ÿ“ฃ Calls & scent control

Pick: master two calls โ€” a grunt tube and a bleat โ€” before buying a vest full. And hunt the wind first: no spray fixes a bad wind. Budget pick: wind discipline plus scent-free laundry basics beats a shelf of expensive cover sprays.

๐Ÿ”ช Knives & field dressing

Pick: a fixed blade that fits your hand with gloves on, game bags, and a drag rope โ€” the work starts after the shot. Budget pick: a replaceable-blade knife kit: razor-sharp every time, no sharpening stone required at the tailgate.

Tori's pick logic

๐ŸŽ’ Packs & camp

Pick: a quiet pack โ€” zippers and buckles that don't clang โ€” a headlamp with a red-light mode, and hand warmers bought by the box, not the pair. Budget pick: the warmers and the headlamp. The two cheapest hunt-savers there are.

Where it sells โ€” fishing & hunting

Bass Pro Shops & Cabela's (the main shelf โ€” lures, tackle, hunting gear) โ€ข Dick's Sporting Goods (second outdoors shelf) โ€ข Walmart (tackle basics and season deals). โ€œSee it at the storeโ€ buttons switch on at launch, once Tori's partner signups are approved โ€” same as every shelf on this page. The lure prices above are the Tackle & Tide showcase until then, and nothing on this page is for sale yet.

Home & Life โ€” from Tori himself

Tori's Wave Kit ๐ŸŒŠ

No research team on this one โ€” this is Tori's own shelf. He wears his hair in waves: the grease, the brush, the detangler for wash & style, the durag, and the stocking cap. What's in the kit, what each piece does, and where the good ones actually come from.

How the kit works

Waves are trained, not born

You brush the pattern in. The grease holds it and feeds it. Then the durag or the cap presses it flat while it sets โ€” especially overnight. Skip the tie-down and a night's sleep unravels the day's brushing. That's the whole system; the shelf below is picking the right version of each piece.

๐ŸŒŠ Wave grease & pomade

Pick: the classics โ€” Murray's and Sportin' Waves have been laying waves for decades; heavy pomade when you're training and need the hold. In Tori's own cabinet: the 360 waves pomade โ€” it's on his shelf and in his rotation. Budget / daily pick: a wave butter (Wave Builder, Cantu) for moisture and a softer hold โ€” and the Murray's tin itself sits around five bucks and lasts.

๐Ÿชฎ The brush

Pick: a medium brush for everyday sessions; a hard brush earns its place when you're wolfing (growing the waves out) or brushing in the shower. A palm brush fits the hand and gives you control. Budget pick: one good medium brush covers most days โ€” add the hard brush when the kit grows.

๐Ÿชฅ The detangler brush โ€” wash & style

Pick: a detangler brush is Tori's wash-day tool. The flexible teeth work the shampoo through without snagging, and brushing the lather in is the wash & style โ€” the pattern gets trained while the hair gets clean. Tori's wash: a rice shampoo soap bar โ€” that's the lather he brushes through. Budget pick: a few bucks at the beauty supply, right near the durags โ€” grab one on your next cap run.

Tori's pick logic

๐ŸŒ™ Durags โ€” the tie-down

Pick: silky or stretch with long, wide tails โ€” real compression without digging in. Tori's rule: the good durags come from the hair and beauty-supply store. The gas-station rack ones slip off by 3 AM and stretch out in a week. Budget pick: buy two, so one is always clean.

Tori's pick logic

๐Ÿงข Stocking & wave caps

Pick: the cap goes over the durag to double the compression on training days, or solo on light days. Same rule as the durags: beauty-supply shelves carry the ones that actually stay on and hold their stretch. Budget pick: a multi-pack โ€” caps are the piece you replace most.

Watch-outs

๐Ÿšฉ Brushing dry hair snaps it: brush damp or moisturized, not bone-dry.
๐Ÿšฉ Heavy grease builds up: keep a real wash day in the week or the shine turns to gunk.
๐Ÿšฉ One untied night undoes a week: the tie-down is not optional โ€” it's half the system.
๐Ÿšฉ Thin straps leave a line: a durag mark across your forehead all morning means the straps are too thin or tied too tight.

Where it sells

Amazon (the classic greases, around $5โ€“6 a tin when last checked in October 2026 โ€” prices move) โ€ข your local beauty-supply store (the good durags and caps โ€” Tori's rule) โ€ข SamsBeauty online (the big beauty-supply catalog) โ€ข Walmart (grease and basics).

No real beauty-supply near you? Ask Find It โ€” give us your ZIP and we'll point you to one that stocks the good durags, or hunt the kit down for you.

Tori's Kitchen

Simple food for real life: weeknight meals, church and family plates, slow-cooker help, and ways to make groceries go further.

Featured starter recipe

Skillet sausage, peppers & rice

You need: smoked sausage, two bell peppers, one onion, garlic, cooked rice, a little oil, salt, pepper, and paprika.

  1. Brown the sliced sausage and set it aside.
  2. Soften the peppers and onion in the same skillet.
  3. Stir the sausage and rice back in with the seasoning.
  4. Let the bottom crisp for one minute before serving.

Stretch it: Add beans or a bag of frozen mixed vegetables and it feeds more people without starting over.

Cooking segments, Tori's way

  • Short Tori's Kitchen videos made for this page and his social pages
  • โ€œWhat can I make with this?โ€ answers for what's already at home
  • Weekly grocery-deal picks from stores his readers actually use
  • Ingredient and kitchen-tool links only after affiliate approval

Other people's cooking shows can inspire an idea, but the page will feature Tori's own segments โ€” that's what builds his audience and his income.

Money-saver tip

๐Ÿฅ– Too Good To Go โ€” good food for about a third of the price

Bakeries, cafes, restaurants, and stores near you sell a Surprise Bag of the day's unsold food in the Too Good To Go app โ€” usually about a third of the real price, like $5โ€“$10 for $15โ€“$30 of food. Reserve a bag in the app and pick it up in the store's window that day.

Straight talk: the contents are a surprise (that's the deal), the food is near its sell-by date, bags go fast, and if you miss your pickup window the bag is gone. Not a sponsor and not a partner โ€” just a good deal worth knowing about. How it works โ†—

Michigan Winter Ready

Tori's own practical checklist โ€” not a copy of somebody else's video. Check things off as you get your house, car, and family ready.

๐Ÿ›ฐ๏ธ Weather Watch

Weather matters here twice: โ€œCan I fish?โ€ and โ€œIs a Michigan storm coming?โ€ A live forecast and alert box is on the way. The Weather Channel / Weather Company is on Tori's target list, but Tori's Go-To does not claim a partnership or show fake live weather.

Status: live weather not connected yet.

๐Ÿ›’ Shopping the checklist

One useful shopping link can sit beside each supply once Tori joins the right affiliate programs. No fake โ€œbuyโ€ buttons and no prices copied from a store ad are used here.

First stores to check: Walmart, Meijer, Amazon, and Bass Pro Shops for outdoor supplies.

Why โ€œGo-Toโ€?

Because Tori is the person people already call when something breaks, when they cannot find the right part, when they need a prayer, or when they want to know what bait to tie on.

Real hands, real life

Tori formerly owned C5 Lawn Care, rebuilt his own mower carburetors, and has years of practical car and handyman experience. He is also a husband, dad, fisherman, and an Uber driver who knows what it means to watch every dollar.
